S2 Mini 2
Welcome to Life Reclaimed, a place for honest conversations about faith, healing, and real life.
We are three friends learning to walk in freedom and trust God through the messy middle.
Pull up a chair.
We’re glad you’re here.
Let’s dive in.
Welcome, everyone.
Thanks for joining us for our second mini episode.
My name is Kim, and I’m joined around the table with my two friends, Brenda and Cindy.
Whom, by the way, I love having around the table. Thank you, ladies, for joining me.
I love being here.
Exactly.
Me too.
Love it.
Well, before we look ahead, let’s do a quick check-in. What’s something you are looking forward to right now?
Fall?
Yes.
And cooler weather, cooler evenings.
And all that.
The food.
I was going to say.
Pumpkin, everything is my answer.
Pumpkin everything.
I’m so excited for, if you walk into our house right now, I spent an entire day decorating there are pumpkins everywhere I could get a pumpkin because I’m kind of pumpkin obsessed.
Me too.
It’s all Auntie Judy’s fault because Auntie Judy and I both loved pumpkin and every year she would buy me a new pumpkin.
So I have all these great pumpkins that Auntie Judy sent me and I love them.
They’re super cute.
It’s super fun.
But I’m also looking forward to starting our new Bible study .
Oh, actually so excited.
We got to meet some of our new Bible study members, and so that was really exciting.
We got to meet them on Wednesday.
So yes, I am looking forward to that.
I actually have two things.
Okay, okay.
A couple weeks, my grand-baby will be one.
Oh, my goodness.
Isn’t it?
How did he get to be one?
I don’t know.
So I’m really looking forward to celebrating him.
Yes, he’s’s such a cutie patootie.
I feel like we were just having grandma’s shower like yesterday.
I know.
I know.
I know.
And then this next weekend, I get to take a special trip and go see some girlfriends.
We’re going to have a little girlfriends staycation.
Love that.
It’s supposed to be in the 90s.
Oh, no.
She was like, well, we’ll spend the Saturday in the pool.
And I was like, the pool. And then I looked at the weather and I was like, I’ll be darn. Yeah, it’ll still be in the 90s where I’m going.
So I am kind of excited about that.
That’s fun.
Yeah, but we’re doing this sound bath.
Have you heard of that?
No.
I’ve heard of it. I’ve never done one.
Me either.
I’ve never done it.
I was like, I’ve never even heard of this.
Oh.
So I’m, it’s in a pool and you like float on wraps.
And it’s like you’re in comfy clothes and blanket and somebody’s making some sound.
And I think the water’s supposed to be like the vibration.
I don’t know. I’ll have to tell you all about it afterwards.
Okay.
I can’t wait to hear more.
My mom and I had a, it’s like a scalp massage thing.
I just saw this.
And they have like this ring around her head that shoots water. Have you guys done this?
I’ve seen it.
I haven’t.
I have I have not done it either.
And I just saw some marketing for that.
And I was like, is that a real thing?
It is a real thing.
And it was amazing.
It looks amazing.
Yeah, we went, my mom and I went and did it when she was here. And they like check your scalp to see if you’ve got buildup and they are looking at your skin. They do like a little shoulder and neck massage and yeah.
Yeah. It was a good time.
Do they massage your scalp too?
We’ll see, we got to do that.
It feels so good. You have to go to do that, Cindy.
She’s like, no.
No, I’m down. Yeah, I’d totally do that.
Yeah.
Yeah, it was cool.
And it was cool to see like they video your follicles to see what your scalp looks like before and after they show you what it looks like after to see if they’ve gotten rid of.
Was it a shocker?
Mine was pretty good. Yeah, mine was pretty good. I get, apparently I get rid of my buildup each time, so I don’t know.
Good job.
Good job.
Well, today we are looking forward to season three, healed.
Yeah, yeah.
So far, we have looked at healthy and whole.
This is the first word in the past tense.
So, Kim, I’m wondering why the Lord gave you this word in the past tense.
Man, I’m wondering the same thing. I don’t know , you know, honestly, when he first gave it to me, I didn’t really think about it.
And then after I started thinking about it, it was like, healthy, whole healed.
Why is that one past tense?
I don’t always feel like I’m already healed, but it’s interesting to me that that one is past tense.
What do you guys think?
Well, I think when we do start to look at it, we’re going to be looking at examples where Jesus was healing, you know, and we’ll probably have some of our own experiences that we’re going to share where God has healed us and in those situations, man, you really get to see God’s power.
Yeah.
Okay, so situations healed happens in one time.
Yeah.
Verses to be healthy and whole is a continual process.
Yeah.
It could be that.
Because you could be healed and still not be healthy.
Hmm.
Right.
That’s so good.
Here’s what I was thinking. The redemptive work of Jesus on the cross is what healed me. And I don’t know if maybe because He’s already done the work, that one came in as a past tense.
I don’t know.
That was the connection I made because He’s already done the healing.
I’m not sure.
I don’t know.
I’m kind of excited to figure it out.
I don’t know, because if we look at Matthew 9:22, he says, “Jesus turned and saw her, take heart, daughter He said, your faith has healed you.”
Right.
And I think he said that more than once.
Yes.
Like the healed.
And the woman was healed at that moment.
Yeah.
So it didn’t have to happen again.
Her faith healed already. He healed her.
Yeah.
I don’t know.
I’m curious, I think as we dive into our season, that might unfold.
We’ll see.
And maybe it’s nothing.
Maybe it’s, maybe it doesn’t matter.
Maybe it was just a coincidence that I got healthy and whole and then I got a past tense of healed.
I don’t know.
I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
I think God was very clear.
He was very specific..
Well, in season three, I’m really looking forward to talking about God’s healing power.
Yes.
I can’t wait for that.
I’m curious what God will reveal to each of us. During the next 10 episodes.
Yeah.
Should be some good stuff.
Yeah.
Well, I feel like when we started season two, I said I was very ill-equipped to talk about being whole. And I feel like we’ve changed so much and we learned so much through the season.
I feel like I’m more equipped now to talk about wholeness. So I wonder how much growth can happen as we dive in and start talking about being healed.
Yeah, I wonder if it’s the idea of understanding and having this confirmation almost like a, hey, daughter, you are healed.
Yes.
Yeah.
Right.
Recognize it.
Acknowledge it.
Yes.
You know Exactly.
Step into it.
Absorb it.
Yeah.
Well, and then looking ahead at a scripture that I’m sure we’re going to spend some time on, where Jesus heals the lame man by the pool.
Great story.
It’s John 5, verse 6, “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, do you want to get well?”
I mean, I know that there’s, there’s an episode there.
Yeah, for sure. Two..
Or three.
Yeah.
There’s a lot in that just to unpack, right?
Yeah.
So the healing is there.
The healing’s available.
Do we actually reach out and take it?
There’s a great book. Healing is a choice.
It’s a great book. I can’t think of the author right now off the top of my head.
Well, look it up and put it in the show notes.
But I’ve read it a couple different times because it’s so powerful.
Like the things that God gives you control of for your own healing, it really is a choice.
And I’m wondering here with him at the pool, you had a choice.
He did.
And Jesus recognized that and then asked you.
Yeah.
Do you want to be healed?
Then definitely mark us and listen to the next 10 episodes.
We’ll probably be diving in. We’ll bring you some healing.
We won’t, but we’ll we’ll talk about it and the one who does.
God will bring you the healing.
That’s right.
Through the episodes, we’re going to learn a lot about God’s healing power.
And I think that it’s going to be good.
Well, that kind of goes along with what I was thinking. I was wondering what you guys think about the topic before we dive into it.
What do you think of the topic of being healed? Like, just in general, how are you feeling about this topic?
Well, I mean, from a personal experience, I know that I have been healed in many ways and so I’m so grateful.
You know, when I think about it, I think of my own personal experience.
And then I also think of others in my life that have been healed as well.
I love that.
I love that.
That’s so good.
Yeah.
It’s exciting.
Nice.
Whole felt daunting.
Yes.
For me too.
And this healed, there’s just this vibrancy, I think, just in the world alone.
Because wrapped around being healed means that it’s over.
Yeah.
Something is done.
Something is finished.
Yes.
You don’t have to carry it anymore.
Right.
You don’t have to carry.
Something has stopped bleeding.
Yes.
Something has stopped bleeding.
And I think there is this like, yes, bring it, bring it.
God brings it because we all want it.
Yeah, I love that.
When I think of the word healed, I know this is going to sound a little wacky, but emotionally, physically, and spiritually, always comes after that word.
So when I think healed, I go healed emotionally, healed physically, healed spiritually, because I think you could have one and maybe not the other two.
Oh, right.
That’s good.
And I think what starts to happen is because maybe you don’t have the physical healing you were praying for, then you start to doubt the spiritual healing.
Right.
So I think there are complications that happen in our brains that I’m kind of excited to talk through, think through, and work through.
Well, and isn’t it the hope of heaven that you know you’re completely healed there?
So we know, I mean, there’s some wonderful healing that goes on.
Just people are blessed by being healed, but we think of loved ones who have passed, you know, people with cancer, whatever affliction.
And they’re healed the moment they’re in Jesus’ presence.
I love that.
So I love it, too.
I think all four of these words, healthy, whole, healed, and free, they all mean so many things on the other side of heaven.
Right. Than they do on this side of heaven.
For me, personally, I feel like I can be whole to a point and healed to a point and healthy to a point. And then, but once you transcend and you are in the Lord’s presence, I think they take on a brand new meaning.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That’s cool.
Well, to our amazing listeners, maybe that’s a question for you too. When you hear the word healed, what comes up for you?
That could be rhetorical? You can just think about it. You could let us know what do you think? What does it mean to you? Feel free to reach out to us. We’d love to hear from you.
Here at Life Reclaimed, it is our mission to help women find Jesus and live from the freedom he offers, even in the hardest seasons, by pointing them to the healing and redemptive nature of God.
And our hope is that this becomes a growing community of women, reclaiming their lives through Christ’s healing, grace, and freedom.
Honestly, that is the heart of why we’re around this table together.
Exactly.
Amen.
And these are our mission and our vision statements, but it’s our heart.
The three of us have really put time in, put effort, and all of the things because we want to be a place where women can come and grow and learn and heal and just hear from the Lord.
We’re super grateful that you guys are here with us.
So as we start to think about Season 3: Healed, let’s all be in prayer for what the Lord wants to do in our lives.
We know God is still actively restoring and redeeming his people.
So as we enter this season, let’s prepare our hearts for whatever he wants to show us about what it means to be healed.
Actually, also, in the YouVersion Bible app, there is a Bible Plan by Hosanna Wong and it’s called, I Have a New Name, Seven Days of Unlocking What God Says about you.
And I think this ties a little bit into last season, but also it really ties into this coming season as well.
And so if you’re looking for a resource and you would like to do a Bible study, man, this one has been so good just to renew your mind of what God says about you and who you are.
I think it’s just so really important, very critical, and super timely.
She’s fantastic.
I love listening to her.
And if you’re not following her, check her out. She’s so encouraging.
Yes.
She really is.
She’s one of my favorites.
And she’s got a great story.
I mean, honestly, her life did not start the way most people’s lives start. And so if you feel like that already discounted you because you had a rough start in your life too, she makes it clear that that does not discount the Lord from using you.
So I love that..
Some people you can listen to and it just doesn’t sound authentic.
Yes.
Or for me, you know, I didn’t grow up in the church.
Right.
I became a believer late in life. And so, you know, I listen to people and then I find out they’ve been in church their entire lives.
Yes. Since they were born.
And I always go, man, that’s amazing. But then I, there’s this disconnect for me if I’m being honest.
And it’s not your tell you what they’re saying, but it’s not their story.
So when you have someone like her telling her story and then telling you, you can have this freedom also, it just, it hits home.
Yeah.
I love that.
It’s good.
Well, let’s pray.
Lord Heavenly Father, we love you.
We praise you.
We thank you that you have brought us to this place where we can trust you, this place where you offer health.
You offer wholeness and you offer healing.
Father God, we just look so forward to what you have in store for each of us and for each listener on the other side.
What you’re going to do in these next 10 episodes, what I pray that you reach deep and wide into the hearts of the women that will be listening and that they would turn to you and they would surrender and that they would find healing in the areas that need to be healed.
Lord, we thank you for Jesus.
We thank you that you sacrificed your one and only Son for us.
We can’t wrap our minds around it.
We feel so unworthy of it, but you did not look at us that way.
You looked at us as your children and said, no, you are worthy.
And I am going to raise my son up to defeat death for you.
Lord, we love you and we praise you.
We give you all the glory in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
Amen.

Well, we’d like to say thanks for joining us around the table.
We’ll leave you there for now.
May you draw close to God as we begin to explore His healing power.
As we close, we pray that you would notice Jesus meeting you in the ordinary moments of your week.
