Episode Summary

What happens when the lies we’ve believed for years start sounding more familiar than the truth?

As we close Season 2, we’re returning to one of the practices that has shaped Life Reclaimed from the beginning: recognizing the lies that keep us stuck and replacing them with the truth of God’s Word.

In this special bonus episode, we walk through 10 biblical truths to renew your mind, this time through the lens of becoming whole. We talk honestly about the messages that tell us we are broken, worthless, unlovable, or unable to change, and the truth God speaks instead.

Wholeness doesn’t mean every struggle disappears or that old thoughts never return. It means learning to recognize what isn’t true, bringing it back to God, and allowing Him to keep renewing our minds and restoring our lives.

And because we want you to do more than simply listen, we’ve created a free Whole Edition Companion Guide to help you slow down, reflect, and work through each truth for yourself.

In This Episode

  • Why the lies we believe can become so familiar that they begin to feel true
  • How God’s truth speaks to the places where we feel broken, worthless, unlovable, or stuck
  • Why renewing our minds is an ongoing practice, not a one-time fix
  • How Scripture helps us recognize and replace the messages that keep pulling us back into old patterns
  • What it looks like to become whole while God is still restoring unfinished places in our lives
  • 10 biblical truths we can return to when the lies get loud

Key Take Away

Wholeness isn’t something we manufacture. It is the ongoing work of God as we bring Him every part of ourselves and learn to live from what is already true in Christ. We are loved, redeemed, held, and still becoming. And the God who began this work is faithful to continue it.

Truth #1, no broken place puts me beyond God’s restoring work.
Psalm 147:3 – He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Truth #2, my past is part of my story, but it does not determine my identity.
Colossians 3:3-4 – For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

Truth #3, my worth is received from God, not earned through performance.
Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Truth #4, I am responsible for loving others faithfully, but not for making them okay.
Romans 12:18 – If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

Truth #5, I am fully known and loved by God. I don’t have to live for people’s approval.
Galatians 1:10 – Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Truth #6, nothing created can carry the weight of making me whole. My deepest satisfaction is in God.
Psalm 63:1 – You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

Truth #7, painful emotions and genuine faith can exist at the same time.
Psalm 13:1-6 – How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, Lord my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death,
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me.

Truth #8, my wholeness in Christ does not depend on everything in my life being resolved.
Colossians 2:10 – and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Truth #9, an old struggle does not erase God’s new work.
2 Corinthians 3:18 – And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Truth #10, Jesus is the One who makes me whole.
Colossians 1:19-20 – For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
